Buckingham Garden Centre

We are a family run garden centre that is well known nationally as a specialist for bare rooted hedging plants and young trees. The Garden Centre always has a good selection of shrubs and plants which are not commonly found elsewhere, together with a wide range of the more commonly sought after plants. Established for over 50 years, the Garden Centre has recently been redeveloped to a high standard. Our shop contains the largest selection of seeds and bulbs for miles around, together with garden chemicals, tools, garden furniture and many other goods. Outside we stock peat-based and peat-free composts, paving, fencing, timber decking, garden buildings and greenhouses, and a large range of pots, statues and garden ornaments. Our aquatics centre has a good reputation for their excellent quality tropical, marine and cold water fish. The Gardeners' Retreat, our coffee shop/restaurant, serves fresh home cooked food and is an excellent way to round off any visit to the Garden Centre.

Social Events, Training Courses & ‘Afternoon at the Orchard’ working parties

MSOG will add more fruit-themed social events, training courses and ‘Afternoon at the Orchard’ working party events to their website listings as they are confirmed, so do check the latest updates HERE. They welcome volunteers of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to participate in and help out at these events. If you would like to join them and have fun, please email Claire for details. The Mid Shires Orchard Group is for all enthusiasts of orchards, apples and heritage top fruit in Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire and Warwickshire. MAY 2019 EVENTS

SPRING BLOSSOM PICNIC: WOUGHTON ORCHARDS, MK6 3BD

• Date: Saturday 11-May-19, from 1.00pm onwards, for as long as you want!

• Venue: Woughton Orchards, off Newport Road, Woughton on the Green, Milton Keynes, MK6 3BD

• Activities: Pack a picnic, put your blanket out under the spreading branches of the old cider apple trees and enjoy a lazy lunch outdoors, under the blossom. Throw a Frisbee, bob an apple, read a book, chat with friends, make a den with your kids, throw the ball for a dog, sketch the scenery, play a guitar – whatever you enjoy. We’ll have the kettle on and the cider chilling!

AFTERNOON AT THE ORCHARD: WOUGHTON ORCHARDS, MK6 3BD

• Date: Saturday 18-May-19, from 2.00pm to 6.00pm (4 hours)

• Venue: Woughton Orchards, off Newport Road, Woughton on the Green, Milton Keynes, MK6 3BD

• Activities: Join us for bramble-bashing and undergrowth clearing around the orchards, ‘Secret Six’ apple trees and the Plum Hedge. Help us get the orchard ready for summer pruning and our mowing, raking and mulching regime. Bring work gloves, pruning shears, loppers and scrub-clearing tools, or borrow ours.

• Price: FREE! Donations welcomed towards refreshments
