Buckingham Garden Centre

We are a family run garden centre that is well known nationally as a specialist for bare rooted hedging plants and young trees. The Garden Centre always has a good selection of shrubs and plants which are not commonly found elsewhere, together with a wide range of the more commonly sought after plants. Established for over 50 years, the Garden Centre has recently been redeveloped to a high standard. Our shop contains the largest selection of seeds and bulbs for miles around, together with garden chemicals, tools, garden furniture and many other goods. Outside we stock peat-based and peat-free composts, paving, fencing, timber decking, garden buildings and greenhouses, and a large range of pots, statues and garden ornaments. Our aquatics centre has a good reputation for their excellent quality tropical, marine and cold water fish. The Gardeners' Retreat, our coffee shop/restaurant, serves fresh home cooked food and is an excellent way to round off any visit to the Garden Centre.

Pies from Monty Pieman

Just to be as local as possible we will have Pies prepared and baked less than a mile away and now given the great title 'Monty Pieman'.  The pies are so good they won awards in 2014 in Melton Mowbray, and they know something about Pork Pies there!

The pies are made from the best local ingredients to be found and made with great care using traditional methods, using their own pastry made from locally milled four and baked in small batches so the pies are always really fresh.  They are all given local names as well - Padbury, Winslow, Buckingham and Adstock.

Padbury is a traditional Pork Pie using prime local pork shoulder, sage, spices and seasoning which won a Silver Medal in the Pork Pie Class at the British Pie Awards in 2014.

Winslow is a more highly spiced pie which includes crumbled black pudding pieces, chilli flakes and garlic to give the taste-buds a thorough work out.

Buckingham is a much lighter, sweeter pie, more of a picnic pie than a pork pie, with Bramley apple, home cooked ham pieces, onion, cheddar cheese, herbs and a hint of English mustard.

Finally the Adstock has Stilton cheese, walnut pieces and local free range pork with a hint of spices giving a wonderfully smooth, creamy, flavoursome pie.  This pie won a Bronze Medal in the Savoury Pie Class at the British Pie Awards in 2014.

The pork pies are all individual size (as long as the individual has a good appetite!) and will be priced at £2.29.
